Panama coffee

1400–1900 m · picked December to March · Arabica

A tiny origin made famous in 2004 when Hacienda La Esmeralda's Geisha won the Best of Panama auction and tasted like nothing judges had met before. Geisha from Boquete now sets world record prices every year.

Grown in
Boquete, Volcán, Renacimiento
Varieties
Geisha, Caturra, Catuaí, Pacamara
Processing
Washed and natural, with meticulous drying

In the cup: Geisha: jasmine, bergamot, peach, tea-like body. Other varieties: clean, sweet, floral.

Next to Indian coffee: The reference for the Geisha lots a few Indian estates have started planting. Expensive, but a 100 g bag is a lesson in what the variety can do.
