Tanzania coffee

1200–2000 m · picked June to October in the north, later in the south · Arabica, with robusta around Lake Victoria

Grown on Kilimanjaro's southern slopes and in the southern highlands. Tanzania is known for peaberries, the single round bean that forms in about five percent of cherries, which it sorts and sells separately.

Grown in
Kilimanjaro, Mbeya, Mbinga, Arusha
Varieties
Bourbon, Kent, N39, Typica
Processing
Washed

In the cup: Bright citrus and blackcurrant like a softer Kenya, with a rounder, sweeter finish.

Next to Indian coffee: Indian roasters sell plenty of peaberry from Chikmagalur too, so a Tanzanian PB is a neat side-by-side: same bean shape, very different brightness.
