Georg Reichard opened his café on 9 November 1855 and moved it beside the cathedral in 1905. The neo-Gothic rooms and a 1986 glass pavilion look straight at the Dom.

Coffee has been served here since 1711, making it one of Europe's oldest coffee houses; Robert Schumann's circle met at its regulars' table from 1833. It reopened in April 2025 after six years of renovation, with its coffee museum back from July 2025.

Opened in 1888 as a grand Gründerzeit coffeehouse; after wartime destruction it came back in simpler form, with a palm garden at its centre. Pralines and cakes come from its own confectionery.
Gustav Buchwald founded the business in Cottbus in 1852 and became royal Prussian supplier of Baumkuchen in 1883. It is one of Berlin's oldest surviving Konditoreien, still run by the family.

Luise Wacker opened a delicatessen in 1914 and the family has roasted coffee ever since. The Kornmarkt shop is the original house and still the place locals queue for a cup.

Johann Georg Niederegger founded his marzipan house in 1806. The always-busy café and shop sit opposite the Town Hall, with a marzipan museum on the upper floors.
Dallmayr has traded in Munich since 1700 and is one of Germany's best-known coffee brands. Its flagship delicatessen near Marienplatz draws millions of visitors a year and has its own café-bistro.

Café Kranzler's Kurfürstendamm branch was a symbol of post-war West Berlin; THE BARN has run coffee at the site since 2016. After a 2024 rebuild it moved down to street level, into a glass-fronted, double-height room.
A small St. Pauli roaster that began roasting in 2014 and ranks in Europe's 100 Best Coffee Shops 2026. Its espresso blends are called Moonwalker and Nightwalker.
