Grand Café Leopolis

A café inside the City Hall whose walls carry around 700 photographs of Lviv since people learned to take them. The house 'Leopolis' cake must rest exactly 12 hours and each one is numbered in a register.

Lviv Coffee Mining Manufacture

Historic · Rynok Square 10, Lviv

A playful café built on Lviv's coffee legend of Yuriy Kulchytsky, with a 'mine' in the cellars under Rynok Square. The building is the former Lubomirski Palace, from whose balcony the Act of Restoration of Ukrainian Statehood was proclaimed on 30 June 1941.

Opened in 1999 to carry on the traditions of pre-war Lviv confectioneries. The cheesecake (syrnyk) is famous, made with homemade cheese supplied for years by the same women.

Virmenka

Local tradition · since 1979 · Virmenska St 19, Lviv

A cult café on one of Lviv's oldest streets since 1979, once the haunt of hippies, artists and musicians. Coffee is still boiled in a cezve on heated quartz sand while you wait at the bar.
