Ernest Bewley opened this café in 1927 behind an Egyptian Revival mosaic façade, on the site of the school once attended by the Duke of Wellington and Robert Emmet. Inside are stained glass windows by Harry Clarke. It nearly closed for good in 2020, then reopened.
