Ester Nordhammar opened Vete-Katten in 1928 as a bakery, konditori and chocolate maker. The name is said to come from her answer when asked what to call it: 'det vete katten' – 'the cat knows'.
A Haga café in a protected 19th-century building with a glass ceiling from 1896. The first Hagabulle, a cinnamon bun the size of a plate, was baked here in 1985.

Johan & Nyström still calls itself the little roastery at heart, though it has grown into one of Europe's larger specialty roasters. Its Södermalm café is the place to taste the range.
